To travel from home or depot to commission and hand over clients new generating equipment. UK travel.Electrican/Commissioning Engineer
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the largest generator specialist in the South West. You will support the Service team in the preparation, testing and repair of electrical equipment/generators both on our premises, and external sites throughout the UK. You will be liaising with both external customers and various departments within Power Electrics.
REPORTS TO: Service Manager
KEY TASKS & MAIN DUTIES:
1. Responsible for preparing, testing and repair of electrical equipment.
2. Responsible for wiring and connection of varied site equipment.
3.Responsible for synchronising generators and generators to the mains system.
4. Diagnose faults on-site for generators and panels.
5. Carry out Site Surveys for Project Works as required
6. Carry out commissioning of single or paralleled Generators and associated Control Systems
7. Carry out mechanical repairs and servicing of generators and ancillary equipment in the depot and on site where required.
8. Deliver & collect generators and ancillary equipment using appropriate company vehicles where required.
9. Provide general assistance in the depot, including loading & offloading equipment.
10. Carry out duties on company on call rota system (currently 1 week in 8)
11. Comply with the Company ‘s Health & Safety and Environmental Policies , including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are kept tidy.
12. Comply with all aspect of the company ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007 procedures, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Qualified Electrician
2. Preferably an approved/recognised Certificate of Apprenticeship
3. Previous experience of F G Wilson control systems advantageous, although training could be given
4. City & Guild in current edition(17th) of IEE wiring regulations.
5. Forklift Licence advantageous
6. Holder of current CSCS card preferred, however training can be given.
