Reporting to the Engineering Manager
Key deliverables:
- To produce concept design layouts for both tenders and new designs, including calculation and analysis ensuring gearbox designs are fit for purpose and meet customer specification requirements agreed, for all gearbox types
To provide performance data and detailed analysis reports on AGSL products both in-field and under in-house product development testing
To produce detailed manufacturing drawings, create specification for bought out equipment and generate Bill of Materials on IBS
Provide support of N&V activities for in-field routine surveys and problem investigations
To liaise with customers and suppliers throughout tender/design stage.
To create clearly documented design files with all relevant design calculations and analysis data for ease of reference by others.
To develop Noise & Vibration N&V product performance assessment and health monitoring techniques.
To assess new and existing gearbox design integrity, so as to minimize risk to contract and manufacturing, whilst maximising performance and operating efficiency. - To develop working and measurement practices and create standard templates relating to N&V measurement, analysis and reports.
- To ensure all engineering data delivered is accurate, to agreed programme schedules and budgets set, whilst following quality practices to eliminate design NCR issues at source.
- To deputise for members of the Engineering team in their absence.
Other duties:
- Provide decision making support to all areas of AGSL.
- Perform any other duties as requested by your manager.
Typical qualifications & experience required:
- HNC / Degree in mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in N&V measurement/analysis of rotating equipment. In-depth knowledge of rotor dynamics and analysis of complex system vibrations with proficient use of various N&V analysis equipment, including knowledge/use of ANSYS, MathCAD, Pro-E would be an advantage.
