A market leader specialising in the design and manufacture of electronic equipment for monitoring and control of capital plant in the petrochemical, materials handling and transport industries. A vacancy has arisen for a senior design draughtsperson to complement our existing team. The successful candidate is likely to be qualified to HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline and have several years’ industrial experience in a design and manufacturing environment. This position entails the electro/mechanical design and documentation of new products and modifications/upgrades to existing products. As specialised products destined for the mining and petrochemical markets are required to be designed and certified for installation and operation in these potentially explosive gas and dust environments, experience in designing this type of equipment would be an advantage. The company utilizes a 3D C.A.D package (Solid Edge) and a working knowledge of this system would be desirable although training will be provided. A solid appreciation of engineering processes including fabrication, pressure die casting, sand casting, injection moulding, sheet metal work and machined components is expected.
