Job Description:
As a Senior Project Manager your role will be to manage the life cycle of projects from inception to completion.
Duties:
This manufacturer of power generation equipment has experienced a rapidly increasing workload which has seen their current resources stretched beyond capacity. With new waste heat energy and syngas recovery projects to be undertaken over the next few years, it is imperative that their resources are strengthened. As a result of this there is an immediate requirement for a permanent Senior Project Manager to oversee the procurement and installation of major capital equipment The role of the Senior Project Manager will involve: Working on a number of CAPEX projects that require the justification, procurement and integration of waste heat and syngas recovery machinery into the business.
- Create the project plan.
- Control of the project budget.
- Resourcing for the projects (headcount & financial).
- Co-ordination of the resource to deliver the project.
- Oversee the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the CAPEX equipment.
- The impact on the business – what effect will it have on production, efficiency and cost.
- Working on projects up to the value of £20m.
- Presenting to the group board and providing business plans to justify CAPEX – Financial and productivity justification.
- Able to drive projects through.
- Overall responsibility to help bring the manufacturing process of this engineering company up to the date.
The successful applicant must possess the following:
- Senior CAPEX project management experience for an engineering manufacturer within the power generation (power island) sector.
- Ideally worked in a relatively large engineering company.
- Experience of overseeing CAPEX equipment design, procurement, build, installation and commissioning.
- Financial & budgetary capability.
- Management of resource – people & finance.
- Able to present to a group board – Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Strong willed and able to construct a strong business case for the project.
- Hard working and diligent individual
- Outgoing, drive, determination, confident, desire to progress either technically or into man management.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
